Aston Villa Beats Arsenal To Emi Buendia Signing

Aston Villa have agreed a £33 million price with Norwich City for Argentinian Midfielder Emiliano Buendia in a deal that will make him the club's record signing.

Since joining the Canaries from Getafe in 2018, Buendia has continually impressed. Despite being relegated from the Premier League a year later, he earned promotion with them in 2018/19 and was one of their best performances. Despite considerable interest last summer, they were able to maintain hold of him, and he shone once more as the Canaries rose back to the top division.

Last season, he had 15 goals and 17 assists as Norwich finished first in the Championship. As a result, clubs began to take note of his performances.

Liverpool and Leeds were two of the club's involved. Arsenal and Villa, on the other hand, were the clubs with the most serious interest.

And it became a competition between those two clubs to sign him. The Gunners were said to have made a £30 million bid earlier this week, but it was turned down.

And Villa acted quickly to beat Mikel Arteta's team to his signature. For the Argentina international, they made a "very good" offer, which was accepted.

Norwich has accepted a £33 million plus add-ons deal, according to Sky Sports. The deal's final value could grow to £40 million as a result of the extras.
