Besiktas Agree Deal To Sign Super Eagles Defender

 According to Ortacizgi, Besiktas have agreed a deal to sign Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem on a season-long loan with the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

According to the source, the Turkish champions would pay Boavista €600,000 upfront for the loan before paying €4.4 million to keep the Super Eagles defense for another four years.

Boavista who only recently completed a similar deal to sign Awaziem from FC Porto, where he had been since he was a teenager.

On loan from Porto, Awaziem played in 27 league games and even captained Boavista on many occasions helping the struggling Portuguese club avoid relegation.

Awaziem, who had previously played in the Turkish League, starred for Caykor Rizespor, during a loan spell in the first half of 2019. 

The 24-year-old Nigerian international, who has 20 caps for his country, also spent time on loan with French topflight Nantes and Spanish Laliga side Leganes.
