Chelsea's Billy Gilmour To Undergo Norwich Medical

According to sources, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour's loan move to Norwich City will be finalised before the end of this week.

The 20-year-old was recently a member of Scotland's Euro 2020 squad, which was eliminated in the group stage.

A positive COVID-19 test ended his tournament early, preventing him from playing in Croatia's 3-1 loss.

Gilmour now appears to be on his way to the Norwich on loan to gain additional experience.

According to the Daily Mail, once his self-isolation period is up, the player will have a medical at Norwich on Thursday.

The transfer will most likely be finished by the end of the week.

Several top-flight clubs have expressed interest in Gilmour, including Southampton and Newcastle United.

The Magpies were considering loaning him or teammate Tammy Abraham for the coming season.

Instead, the Scotsman will enhance Daniel Farke's squad as they prepare to return to the Premier League.

In midfield, he is on the verge of replacing Oliver Skipp. In 2020/21, the Tottenham loanee had a fantastic season, making 47 appearances across all competitions.

Norwich had hoped to extend his loan for another season, but Tottenham opted against the move.

Should Gilmour make it into Farke's lineup first, the move will provide him an opportunity to impress his parent club on a weekly basis.
