According to reports, Everton are interested in signing Villarreal and Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze as boss Rafa Benitez looks to bolster his side ahead of the new season.
Since making his debut in 2018, the 22-year-old has 17 goals and 17 assists in 119 games for the Yellow Submarine.
Last season, the Nigerian international played 40 times for his club in all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting on eight occasions.
Everton are keeping an eye on the forward, who has previously been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool, according to The Athletic.
It is believed that Toffees manager Rafael Benitez is a big fan of Chukwueze, whose current contract with Villarreal is set to end in less than two years.
Since joining the Yellow Submarine's first team in April 2018, the Nigerian has mostly played as a right-sided attacker, but he has also played on the left and through the middle.
