Manchester United Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has signed a new three-year deal, the club confirmed today.
Solskjaer, who succeeded Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford in 2018, will stay at the club until at least 2024, with the option of a further one year.
The Norwegian has guided United through a successful transition period, during which they have re-established themselves as a major contender for the Premier League title.
Solskjaer has guided the club to Champions League qualification in both of his full seasons in charge and the club has now secured his long term future by announcing a new three-year contract with an option of a fourth year.
The club made the announcement on their official website, with the manager expressing his excitement at extending his contract.
"Everyone knows how passionate I am about this club, and I am overjoyed to have signed this new contract, We have constructed a squad with a nice combination of youth and experienced players who are eager for success, and it is an exciting time for the club," he said.
He continued, "I am surrounded by a terrific coaching tea, and we are all eager to take the next step in our adventure. Manchester United wants to win the biggest and best trophies, and we're all working towards that goal. We've progressed both on and off the pitch, and we'll continue to do so in the coming seasons."
"I really can't wait to play in front of a packed Old Trafford crowd and start this campaign."
