OFFICIAL: Bakayoko Leaves Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has rejoined Italian side AC Milan on a two year loan deal which could be made permanent.

Since joining the Blues from Monaco in 2017, the Frenchman has spent three seasons in Italy, most recently with Napoli under Gennaro Gattuso, who was also his manager during his first term at San Siro in 2018/19.

Bakayoko spent just one season with Chelsea's first team before being loaned out to Milan for the first time, with a brief return to Monaco between his two spells in Serie A.

Despite appearing in pre-season, Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel found him surplus to requirements, and he has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 2023.

According to the terms of the arrangement, Bakayoko might not return to the West London club. The midfielder's contract was set to end in June 2023 anyhow, and Milan acknowledged that the deal included an obligation to buy if 'certain criteria are reached.'
