Ashley Young is having a medical with Aston Villa after agreeing personal terms to return to his previous club on a free transfer after leaving Inter Milan.
If the medical goes well, the former England international will sign a one-year contract with the option to extend it for another year.
When Young's Inter contract expires on July 1, he will officially join the club.
Young won Serie A with Inter last season and was offered a new one-year contract, but he preferred to return to England to be closer to his family.
Burnley and Watford, where he started his career, have also approached him with offers.
Young, who joined Inter from Manchester United in January 2020, made 34 appearances in all competitions last season. He turns 36 next month.
Young made nearly to 200 appearances for Villa between 2007 and 2011, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup. He then moved to United, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
