AS Roma have confirmed the signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on a permanent deal.
The Giallorossi announced the signing of the England international on their official website, in a €40 million agreement that would keep him at the club until June 2026.
Chelsea inserted a buy back clause of €80m active from June 2023.
“You can tell when a club is serious about you – and Roma made that plain right away,” Abraham told ASRoma.com.
“Roma is a team that deserves to compete for championships and prizes. I've won important trophies before, and I'd like to do it again, so I'd like to assist this club in achieving that goal and advancing to the level where Roma belongs.”
Last season, the 23-year-old was Chelsea's joint highest scorer in all competitions with 12 goals from 32 appearances, but he fell out of favor once coach Thomas Tuchel took over in January.
Following the signings of Rui Patricio, Eldor Shomurodov, and Matias Vina, Abraham becomes Roma's fourth important signing under Jose Mourinho.
