Arsenal's £40 million bid for Brighton and England defender Ben White has reportedly been rejected as the club looks to secure some early transfer business.
White had a strong season with the Seagulls, appearing in 36 Premier League games and earning a late call-up to the Three Lions' Euro 2020 team.
Arsenal are rumored to be looking to reinforce their team after a disastrous 2020-21 season, and a new defender is thought to be one of their top objectives.
According to Sky Sports, they have already made a play for White, after Brighton rejected their first offer.
Reports suggest the two clubs remain locks in talks and Arsenal are expected to go back with an improved second offer which is believe will be close to Brighton's £50m valuation for their player.
