Liverpool Midfielder Joins FC Porto On A Permanent Deal

Liverpool have announced that Serbian international midfielder Marko Grujic has completed a permanent move to Portuguese giant FC Porto.

Grujic, 25, was Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's first signing in 2016, but he only made 16 appearances in all competitions throughout his five years at Anfield.

“The Serbia international returns to the Portuguese club after making 39 appearances and scoring two goals during a loan spell in 2020-21,” Liverpool wrote on their official website.

“Grujic joined Klopp's squad for a pre-season training camp in Austria earlier this month and will now leave to join Porto on a permanent basis.”

Grujic agreed to join Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in January 2016 before completing the transfer later that year. He previously spent two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin.

He made eight Premier League games for The Reds, all as a substitute, and he also made eight appearances in the Champions League. He was on loan at Cardiff for the second part of the 2017-18 season.
